This journal was written by Edna Foa, David Riggs, Constance Duncu and Barbara Rothbaum who are all renowned in the psychiatry field. This particularly journal is extremely interesting as it assesses the scale of PTSD. It is widely known that everyone shows PTSD symptoms in different ways and it all depends on the ability of one’s brain to resist the overload of distress signals in the brain. The scale contains 17 items that would diagnose someone with stress symptoms and place them on the scale in terms of severity. Even if someone has little interest in Post-Traumatic Stress, it is an incredibly detailed article on the effects on the person suffering as well as the people around them. It made me realized just how many people have mild symptoms of PTSD, especially with the old-school ways of parenting or teaching with various kinds of abuse.
